Carpe Diem

So you have some goals, plans that will take you beyond your wildest dreams. However, you forget to conduct a plan on how to get there.  Meanwhile you have to balance the everyday obstacles of life.  Nothing that big, just the regular-you know rent, bills, food, and even balancing relationships if your lucky enough to have them.  It appears that you are running that wheel in the hamster cage or the figure 8, oh yeah your moving but not in the right direction.  Ive been thinking about a lot of the quotes I’ve heard over the years, to be honest I don’t know where this one came from and I probably shared in another post, “if you keep on doing the same things, your are destined to get the same results”.  The thought, and real question is what can one do to garner different results.

The weird thing is that normally, when you set your sights on something you already have the answer.  You already know the steps you should be taking, and the fear of meeting your own expectations scare you away from betting on yourself.  Most people will try to protect you from your greatness, they will compound your fear, they will persuade you into thinking your idea the single most important part of your life is not worth going after because you will encounter some of the worlds greatest obstacles to get there.

So I guess what I am trying to say is, how will you ever know what you are, until you go out there and give it your best shot.  I am not used to people who operate by any other way than sheer confidence in themselves and their abilities.  My biggest mistake is not taking my own advice and noticing my own greatness.  Its not that we do not meet trial and error in our journeys it is that we have the will to capture the vision that we have always wished for.  I believe that we cannot let self doubt and the negativity deter us from the single most important goal to who we are and want to be.

So I am noticing that my advice comes off as such.  There is no time to focus on everything we did wrong in the ride of our lives.  Leaders make mistakes all the time because they do not have the time to go over what is right or what is wrong, the goal is always to make it work and make corrections along the way if need be.

Most will tell you to take caution on your journeys, and its not that I want you to be in reckless abandon approach your dreams, but if I have ever believed in anything in life, its that what ever it is that you want is always attainable and that is something worth fighting for.  If you by chance do not get to make it to your goal, there are plenty of little achievements to enjoy along your journey, and perhaps the root of what you have been chasing was already accomplished, yet on a smaller scale than what you have imagined.  And this victory means that you are just as successful as you set out to be.
